China's Textile and Garment Exports up 9.2% in July

According to China's General Administration of Customs, from April to July, exports of textile and garment achieved growth for four consecutive months. With the gradual easing of the global pandemic and the decline in demand for pandemic prevention materials, the growth rate of textile exports in July slowed down compared with the previous period. The purchasing demand for apparel in major markets rebounded, thus, the apparel exports tended to improve, and its decline was significantly narrower than the previous period.


In CNY-denominated terms, in January to July period, China's textile and garment exports totaled over CNY 1.10 trillion, up 9.2% year-on-year. Thereinto, textile exports reached CNY 634.32 billion, seeing year-on-year rises of 35.8%. While garment exports were CNY 467.6 billion, down 13.8% year-on-year. In July alone, China's textile and garment exports reached CNY 221.85 billion, up 17.2% year-on-year. Among them, textile exports reached CNY 113.26 billion, ballooned by 52.8% year-on-year; garment exports were CNY 108.59 billion, down 5.8% year-on-year.


In US$-denominated terms, China's textile and garment exports totaled US$ 156.48 billion in the first seven months, up 5.6% year-on-year. Thereinto, textile exports reached US$ 90.08 billion, seeing year-on-year growth of 31.3%. While garment exports were US$ 66.4 billion, down 16.6% year-on-year. In July, China's textile and garment exports reached US$ 31.3 billion, up 16.1% year-on-year. Thereinto, textile exports were US$ 15.98 billion, surged by 49.3% year-on-year. While garment exports were US$ 15.32 billion, down 5.7% year-on-year.
