In April, the United States imposed “reciprocal tariffs” on global trading partners, causing a significant negative impact on the recovery of the world economy and increasing uncertainty surrounding China’s textile and apparel exports. According to the latest data from the General Administration of Customs, in US$-denominated terms, China’s goods trade exports in April totaled US$315.69 billion, reflecting a year-on-year increase of 8.1%. Specifically, textile and apparel exports amounted to US$24.19 billion, rising by 1.5% year-on-year and 3.4% month-on-month. From January to April, the cumulative exports of textiles and apparel reached US$90.47 billion, up by 1.1% year-on-year.

In CNY-denominated terms, from January to April, the cumulative textile and apparel exports amounted to 649.54 billion yuan, an increase of 2.2% year-on-year. Of this total, textile exports reached 329.17 billion yuan, rising by 4.9% year-on-year, while apparel exports were 320.37 billion yuan, reflecting a year-on-year decline of 0.5%.

In April, textile and apparel exports hit 173.44 billion yuan, up by 0.5% year-on-year and 3.3% month-on-month. Among them, textile exports totaled 90.21 billion yuan, growing by 2.4% year-on-year, and apparel exports amounted to 83.23 billion yuan, down by 1.5% year-on-year.

In US$-denominated terms, textile and apparel exports totaled US$90.47 billion from January to April, up 1.1% year-on-year. Among them, textile exports stood at US$45.85 billion, an increase of 3.8% year-on-year; apparel exports reached US$44.62 billion, declining by 1.5% year-on-year.

In April, textiles and apparel exports amounted to US$24.19 billion, reflecting a 1.5% year-on-year increase and a 3.4% month-on-month rise. Specifically, textile exports reached US$12.58 billion, up 3.4% year-on-year; apparel exports totaled US$11.61 billion, declining by 0.5% year-on-year.
