Evaluation of the Cooling Performance of Cooling Wadding for Immersion Cooling Vests

Abstract: To develop an under-vest cooling vest suitable for military personnel on summer duty and capable of providing sustained cooling and comfort in high-temperature environments, the water absorption, water retention, and cooling performance of eight types of filling wadding were comprehensively evaluated to identify the most suitable filling material for the cooling vest. The selected material was then applied to the design of the under-vest cooling vest. Wear trials were conducted on three vest styles, and changes in the skin temperature of the volunteers’ chest and back were analyzed to evaluate the cooling effects of the different vest designs. The results provide a reference for the development of immersion cooling vests.
