Ecological Dyeing and Finishing Technology for Gracell Cotton/Apocynum venetum/Mulberry Silk Blended Fabric

Abstract: Aiming at three major technical bottlenecks in the eco-dyeing and finishing of blended fabrics composed of Gracell Cotton, Apocynum venetum, and mulberry silk, namely the low uptake rate of natural plant dyes, color staining during printing, and stiff handfeel caused by fiber blending, this study develops a full-process eco-friendly dyeing and finishing technology. Cationic gelatin modification is adopted to increase the uptake rate of plant dyes from 52.7% to 89.4%. Meanwhile, through activesite pre-occupation and hydrophilic softening finishing, the collaborative improvement of printing definition and wear performance is achieved. The finished fabric features a UPF value above 50, a farinfrared emissivity of 0.95, an antibacterial rate of over 90%, and moisture absorption and quick-drying performance reaching Grade II. The entire production process involves no harmful additives, providing technical support for the eco-friendly and high-value processing of multi-component natural fiber blended fabrics.
