Research on Warping Tension Control of Fine Metal Wires Based on Kalman Filtering and PID

Abstract: The tension control of a fine metal wire warping machine directly affects the flatness, strength, and final product quality of the wire mesh. A tension control system for fine metal wire warping was designed, achieving both constant linear velocity winding and constant warp-sheet tension. Based on the Kalman filter and PID algorithm, the servo output speed is dynamically adjusted, and an integral separation PID algorithm is employed for closed-loop control of the warp-sheet tension. Simulation was conducted in the MATLAB-Simulink environment. The simulation results show that the system features fast response and low overshoot. Experiments have verified that this system can achieve constant linear velocity winding control under varying roll diameters and constant tension winding control for warp sheet.
