Research Progress on Preparation Methods of Aramid Nanofibers

Abstract: Aramid nanofibers are widely used in composite materials due to their large specific surface area, high aspect ratio, excellent mechanical strength, high modulus, and high-temperature resistance. However, current preparation methods for aramid nanofibers face challenges such as long preparation cycles, environmental pollution caused by chemical reagents, and difficulties in industrialization. Exploring simple, efficient, and low-cost preparation methods for aramid nanofibers is of great significance for accelerating their industrialization. This paper reviews the “top-down” and “bottom-up” preparation methods for aramid nanofibers, summarizes their advantages and disadvantages, analyzes the current problems in their research and application, and provides an outlook on future development directions.
