Abstract: According to statistics, China is the largest producer of denim and denim clothing in the world, with more than two billion meters of annual output. The denim industry has a concentrated distribution,optimized product structure, and improved process technology. However, it also faces challenges such as high pressure on environmental protection, low-end products, and increased competition among domestic enterprises. With the strengthening of the public’s awareness of ecological and environmental protection and the change of consumption concepts, sustainable development has become the focus of the denim industry.Based on that, the article introduces the direction of technological innovation and product development in the denim industry.
