Abstract: The density of revolving tops is an important set factor for carding frame, which plays a crucial role in carding, short staple controlling, knot reduction and effective cleaning. This paper discusses the effect of revolving tops with a density of 550 teeth/square inch or more on the card sliver and yarn index when spinning high-count cotton compact spun spinning. A single-variable comparison test with different densities of revolving tops showed that the 740 teeth/square inch revolving tops have the best yarn forming index with adequate fiber carding and reasonable short staple control.
