Preparation and Properties of Polylactic Acid/Cuprous Oxide Composite Antibacterial Fibers

2022年4月7日

Abstract: In this paper, polylactic acid/cuprous oxide (PLA/Cu2O) composite fibers were prepared by modifying and dispersing Cu2O with self-made macromolecular dispersant and active agent to improve the particle size, dispensability and long-term antibacterial property of Cu2O. The physical and chemical properties as well as the antibacterial properties of the prepared fibers were tested and analyzed. The results showed that the average particle size of modified Cu2O was only 522 nm, and it had strong intermolecular forces with PLA; the PLA/Cu2O composite fibers prepared by modified Cu2O possessed better hydrophobicity, higher breaking tenacity and modulus; the antibacterial rate of E.Coli, S.aureus and Candida could reach over 99%.

Key words: polylactic acid; cuprous oxide; antibacterial; degradable fiber
