Comfort Performance of POM/Cotton Blended Fabric

Abstract: In order to explore the performance and market application prospect of POM/cotton blended fabric, the paper compared its properties with common summer fabrics (including double-work cotton fabric, polyoxymethylene fiber fabric, CVC fabric, polyester fabric, woven cotton fabric, single-sided cotton fabric) in terms of thermal-moist comfort and contact comfort. By characterizing the thermal resistance, moisture resistance, air permeability, moisture permeability, and the coefficient of coolness at the moment of contact, the comfort performance of the fabric can be judged. At the same time, the bursting strength of the fabric at different temperatures was measured and its morphological changes were observed. Results indicated that POM/cotton blended fabric has good thermal-moist comfort and contact comfort. And the thermal-moisture comfort decreases with the increase of fabric surface density. The dyeing and finishing temperature of this blended fabric should not be higher than 110 ℃, otherwise, the fiber will curl, fold, even deform, and the fiber strength will decrease.
