Abstract: To soften the scratchy woolen fabric, the paper puts forward a feasible solution that uses enzymes derived from Bacillus subtilis to peel off the wool scales. The effect of four variables, i.e., enzyme dosage, pH value of the solution, temperature, and time, on the weight loss and scratchiness of wool is discussed, so as to provide certain theoretical guidance for the development and design of skin-fit wool fabrics for downstream textile and apparel enterprises.
