Abstract: Biomedical textiles have seen rapid development in recent years. In terms of repairing, replacing, or enhancing the function of lesion tissue or organs of the human body, biomedical textiles have shown structural advantages that other materials cannot match. Taking typical textile-based medical instruments such as artificial blood vessels, hernia repair meshes, surgical sutures, ureteral stent tubes, artificial kidneys,and protective clothing as examples, the paper illustrates the basic characteristics of biomedical textiles and the specificity of related research and development. And the paper carries out a conclusion on the clinical needs of biomedical textiles, industry status and cutting-edge trends of China and international biomedical textiles, so as to provide a certain theoretical reference for accelerating theoretical exploration, product development, and standardization system establishment of biomedical textiles in China.
