Abstract: Nanomaterials are very popular in the field of functional finishing due to their unique physical and chemical properties. However, as people continue to understand the potential risks of nanotechnology, the safety of nanomaterials for functional textiles has become ever more concerned by consumers. This paper reviews the application status, safety evaluation research, standard system establishment, and testing method research of nanomaterials for functional textiles, and points out its release risks during wearing or washing. And the paper puts forward that it is necessary to strengthen its safety research and related standard setting in the future, so as to provide a reference for the future development of the related industry.
