Abstract: The paper introduces the principle of flexible carding and proposes solutions for improving carding quality. For flexible carding, it is required that the fibers, after being carded and stretched, should be straight and parallel; the card clothing should be designed in the principle of thin, sharp and high penetration, with big tooth pitch for reducing longitudinal beating, and meanwhile, high-smoothness tooth, high-angle dense tooth flat and high-transfer deep- and densely-toothed doffer should be used. The targets are to increase fiber transfer rate and carding quality, reduce the load of card clothing and achieve the fullycarded, low-nep and less fiber damage results.
