China’s Textile and Apparel Exports down in October

In CNY-denominated terms, from January to October, the cumulative textile and apparel exports amounted to CNY 1.72 trillion, down 3.4% year-on-year. Thereinto, the textile exports totaled CNY 787.93 billion, down by 3.9% year-on-year; apparel exports were CNY 934.18 billion, down by 3.1% year-on-year. In October, textile and apparel exports reached CNY 164.88 billion, seeing a year-on-year decline of 8.6% and a month-on-month decline of 12.5%. Among them, textile exports were CNY 76.9 billion, declining by 6% year-on-year; apparel exports were CNY 87.98 billion, down by 10.8% year-on-year.

In US$-denominated terms, from January to October, China’s textile and apparel exports totaled US$ 245.71 billion, seeing a year-on-year decline of 9.2%. Among them, textile exports were US$ 112.55 billion, seeing a year-on-year decline of 9.8%; apparel exports reached US$ 133.16 billion, dropping by 8.7% year-on-year. In October alone, textile and apparel exports reached US$ 22.97 billion, seeing a year-on-year decline of 8.4% and a month-on-month decline of 12.3%. Among them, textile exports were US$ 10.71 billion, declining by 5.8% year-on-year; apparel exports were US$ 12.26 billion, down by 10.6% year-on-year.
