The prosperity index of China’s cotton textile industry came in at 49.0 in July, up by 0.2 from June, which performs better than expectations.
In July, the raw material purchasing index came in at 48.6, declining by 1.3 over June; the raw material inventory index came in at 48.8, down 0.3 month-on-month; the production index was 49.2, down 0.2 from June; the product sales index came in at 49.5, down 0.3 from June; the product inventory index was 48.8, up 0.3 from June and the business index came in at 48.9, down 0.6 from the previous month.
The prosperity index of China’s cotton textile industry is based on the weighted calculation of numerous main indicators of about 500 cotton textile enterprises. A reading above 50 indicates expansion, while a reading below reflects contraction.
