According to the National Bureau of Statistics, in May, the retail sales of social consumer goods reached CNY 3.78 trillion, seeing year-on-year growth of 12.7%. From January to May, the retail sales of social consumer goods totaled CNY 18.76 trillion, up by 9.3%.

By consumption types, the retail sales of clothing, foot & head wear and knitted goods amounted to CNY 107.6 billion in May, growing by 12.3% year-on-year and 2.38% month-on-month. From January to May, the retail sales of clothing, foot & head wear and knitted goods totaled CNY 561.9 billion, with year-on-year growth of 14.1%.
