Abstract: The wear of the tooth top of the combing machine’s cylinder will reduce the puncture ability for flock, which will also weaken the separation, straightening and parallel effect of the cylinder on the fiber.The paper conducts a comparative research on the combing quality and yarn quality of the wear of tooth top of cylinder with the normal cylinder, so as to discuss the effect of the combing machine’s cylinder tooth top abrasion on carding effect. Results indicated that, under the condition of tooth top abrasion, the number of neps of combed sliver increased by 48%, the weight ratio of short fiber below 12.7 mm increased by 50%, the neps of 1 000 meters’ yarn increased by 74.6%, and the yarn IPI value increased by 46%. The yarn quality has deteriorated significantly.
