The Total Profits of China's Textile Industry Above Designated Size Saw Narrowed Decline in January - May

Profits of China's major industrial companies saw a narrower decline in May as factories restarted production lines amid improving business activities, official data showed.


According to the data released by the National Bureau of Statistics, during the January-May period, the profit of China's industrial enterprises above designated size totaled around CNY 3.44 trillion in total profits, up 1% year on year.


From January to May, the business income of textile enterprises above designated size reached CNY 1.02 trillion, up by 6.0% compared with the same period the previous year; the profit of the textile industry totaled CNY 35.12 billion, with year-on-year decline of 2.5%. While the business income of enterprises above designated size in apparel and accessories industry reached CNY 561.11 billion, up by 6.1% year-on-year; the profit of apparel and accessories industry was CNY 23.29 billion, with a year-on-year decrease of 4.6%.


From January to May, the business income of leather, fur, feather and their products and footwear industry reached CNY 448.42 billion, increasing by 8.9% year-on-year; their profit totaled CNY 20.93 billion, with year-on-year growth of 3.2%.


From January to May, the business income of enterprises above designated size in the chemical fiber manufacturing industry was CNY 437.73 billion, up by 11.7% year-on-year; and its profit totaled CNY 12.87 billion, plunging by 54.2% year-on-year.
