Industrial Value-added of China's Textile Industry down 1.3% in June

According to the National Bureau of Statistics, in June, China's value-added industrial output above designated size actually increased by 8.3% year-on-year (the growth rate hereinafter refers to price-adjusted actual growth rate), seeing a 13.5% growth compared with the same period of 2019. The two-year average growth was 6.5%. It edged up 0.56% from the previous month. From January to June, the industrial value-added output above designated size increased 15.9%. The two-year average growth was 7.0%.


Industrial output, officially called industrial value added, is used to measure the activity of certain large enterprises with annual turnover of at least CNY 20 million (about US$ 2.9 million).


The manufacturing output increased by 8.7% year-on-year in June and 17.1% in the first half of 2021. In June, the textile industry's value-added output decreased slightly by 1.3%, while it increased by 8.2% in January-June period. By product, in January to June period, the production of 410 out of 612 kinds of products increased year-on-year. In the output of main products, the output of fabric rose 8.1% year-on-year to 3.6 billion meters in June and increased by 11.8% to 18.7 billion meters in January-June, while the output of chemical fibers rose by 6.1% to 5.865 million tons in June and 4.9% to 20.77 million tons in January-June. And the sales-output ratio of industrial enterprises was 97.1%, down 0.8 percentage points on the same period of last year.
