China Enterprise Confederation/China Enterprise Directors Association published its annual list of top 500 Chinese companies on Sept. 1. The top 500 Chinese companies reported combined revenue of CNY 79.1 trillion in 2019, which was 11.14% higher than that in 2018.

There are 31 textile and garment companies in the list (see the list below), among which, Hengli Group Co., Ltd. ranked the 46th, with a revenue of CNY 373.18 billion, and most of the garment companies in the list are men's wear producers.

Wang Jiangping, deputy director of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, commented that in 2018, the threshold for the top 500 Chinese enterprises has grown exponentially, the operating income has been continuously increased, the market scale has grown rapidly, and the international status has further improved. He said that the average profit of Chinese manufacturing enterprises is only 2.59%, which is lower than the 4.37% of the top 500 companies, and far lower than the 6.57% of the world's top 500 enterprises. This also indicates that the production factors have insufficient support for the manufacturing industry. The profitability of China's large manufacturing enterprises needs to be improved.
