Preparation of Adsorbent Based on Modification of Cotton Fibers by HBP-NH₂ and Its Property

Abstract: A modified cotton fiber adsorbent was prepared successfully by grafting amino-terminated hyperbranched polymer (HBP-NH₂) onto oxidized cotton fibers. Its technology of preparation was optimized based on the adsorption quantity of Cd²⁺. The results showed that the modified cotton fibers have the highest adsorption capacity up to Cd²⁺when 20 g/L HBP-NH₂ reacted with oxidized cotton fibers at 60℃ and 11.03pH value for 2 h. The adsorption quantity of Cd²⁺ could reach 38.94 mg/g.
