Abstract: Qipao (Chinese women’s gown) is the most representative Chinese traditional costume. Its emergence and development are closely related to particular cultural elements and social environment. By analyzing the characteristics of traditional craftsmanship of qipao, the paper points out that cleverly integrate modern innovative ideas into traditional crafting techniques is of great significance.
