Abstract: Starting with classification of interspersed structures and related interspersing techniques, the paper studies on interspersed structures in garment design. It classifies interspersed structures into three categories: X-shaped, Y-shaped and knitted. Under body-fit principle, the relation between human body and fabric allowance of the structure is investigated and the practical operation method is illustrated with specific draped patterns, providing a new perspective of interspersed garment structures.
