Abstract: In this paper, based on a set of experiments on three-dimensional scanning of a dressed mannequin and by extracting key parts’ curves, a virtual trousers model whose size can be adjusted according to design was developed; and by using reverse engineering techniques, related 2D templates were obtained, offering an innovative solution to the study on the conversion between design and templates.
