Abstract: The application of Miao embroidery in modern clothing design began in 2001 when ethnic elements became a dominant trend on the global fashion catwalk. Both oriental and western designers turned their focus on the Chinese culture and the splendid Miao culture as well. According to different design requirements, Chinese and foreign designers adopt various designing techniques, either improve or inherit,either making innovation or subverting the tradition, they have greatly enriched the modern clothing design.
