Abstract: Two nano-sized titania systems were prepared by a sol-gel method and a surface modification method, respectively. Surface morphology, light fastness, and color change of dyed PET fabric treated with those systems were compared. Result shows that surface morphology of titania on the fibers treated with different systems are different, while light fastness of differeutly-treated fabrics is equal. Light fastness of fabric treated with the surface modification system is less sensitive to the curing temperature, and color of fabric treated with surface modified titania system changed slightly. Thus, the surface modification method could take place of the sol-gel method in practice.
