Determination of AP and APEO in Textile Processing Detergents by High Performance Liquid Chromatography Method

Abstract: Based on the characteristics of alkylphenol (AP) and alkylphenol polyoxyethylene ether (APEO) in detergents, an ultrasonic extraction-high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) method has been developed for the determination of AP and APEO in textile processing detergents. The sample was extracted with ultrasonic extraction by using methanol as an extracting agent, and then the gradient elution separation and analysis was carried out by liquid chromatography, and quantified by the external standard method with fluorescence detector. This method is simple, good reproducibility and time-saving; and it also has good practicability since it can be used in laboratories that only have a conventional liquid chromatography and an ultrasonic extractor.
