Effect of Nano-SiO2 on Anti-aging Properties of Large Diameter Polypropylene Monofilament

Abstract: Polypropylene monofilament is easily aged under ultraviolet light and hot oxygen. When stored or used at room temperature, the physical properties of polypropylene products will deteriorate rapidly in months or even weeks depending on different environmental conditions, which is not conducive to structural engineering. The paper carried out research on improving the anti-aging properties of polypropylene by melting different proportions of nano-SiO2 in polypropylene. Results indicated that the anti-aging properties of polypropylene monofilament were the best when the addition amount of nano-SiO2 was 0.7%.
