Abstract: To satisfy the control requirement of warp dynamic tension for new generation of high-speed looms, this paper studies the optimal design for the active electromechanical integrated loom back rest of dynamic tension control system. To this end, this paper presents a design model of active back-rest, which is developed based on the basic principle of changing warp trajectory with the torque of cam mechanism and the compensation of warp deformation. Minimizing the system’s movement of inertia is treated as the optimization objective, so as to reduce energy consumption and save manufacturing cost. The iterative calculation method is used to calculate the optimization results of the active back-rest and ANSYS to measure the tenacity of the back-rest. Results indicate that the optimization results fulfilled the predetermined requirements.
