Seven Issues to be highlighted in the 12th FYP for Textile Industry (07/28/2010)

According to China Textile Planning Institute Construction, seven points needed to be highlighted for the 12th FYP of China textile industry.

- Value chain. The systematic completeness of textile industry chain was more lopsided in the past FYPs. The value chain of China textile industry shall be underscored in the upcoming 12th FPY. A complete value chain improvement incorporating product R&D, procurement, manufacturing, logistics and marketing becomes more important.

- Brand construction. The comprehension of a systematic strategic brand management and brand nurturing need to be strengthened.

- Geographic shift of textile industry. The shift per se is not the final target. It is how to enhance the entire competitive edge throughout this industry shift that matters. The nurturing and upgrade of textile industrial clusters is another highlighted aspect.

- The cultivation of strategically important emerging industries. New growth point also needed to be highlighted. For instance, the development of some hi-tech fibers such as carbon fiber.

- Management level improvement.

- Industry talented personnel fostering. China textile industry´s transition from focusing on the systematic completeness to the highlighted value chain development needed to be backed up by talented personnel. The sustainable development of China textile industry also needs the support of top-notches.

- Industry circumstance structuring. This needs to be considered from a national policy-making level. Textile industry is a labor-intensive industry and it matters to the social stability if a well-balanced policy not made.
